Greetings

Greetings Friends:

Welcome to the Stotts Hideaway Ranch Web site. We hope that these web pages come close to portraying our passion and philosophy for breeding quality Texas Longhorns. We are dedicated to improving and preserving this historic breed. We’re sure that, as visitors to our Web site, you are admirers of the breed if not full-fledged enthusiasts. Either way, we hope to offer the information you’re looking for and to answer your questions as you pursue your interest in these magnificent creatures.

Please return to our site often as we will be adding more information as our new “passion” grows and develops. We hope, too, that while exploring these pages and the Texas Longhorn tradition in general, you will be as captivated as we are by this beautiful and distinctive breed.

Having grown up in and operated a family business for many years, we understand the commitment it takes to be successful. We treat our customers the way we would like to be treated and are dedicated to making them our best sources of referral to their friends and business associates. Over the years, many of our customers have truly become our lifelong friends.

We hope that everyone who enters through our Web site portal or drives through our ranch gate becomes our customer and friend. Thank you for visiting our Web site, and we hope to see ya’ll back at the ranch!

Happy Trails,

Doug & Sandy Stotts

Our Mission

Perpetuating the Finest Traits of the Texas Longhorn

We at Stotts Hideaway Ranch are dedicated to the long-term process of breeding Texas Longhorn cattle to perpetuate the finest traits of this historic breed. Our operation is built upon a tradition of quality in producing animals with superior genetics and pet-like dispositions. Our focus is on the development of the Longhorn’s characteristic horn length in a variety of styles and its assorted body colors inspired only by nature. As with fine art, every Texas Longhorn is an original; they are beautiful walking canvases!

Our herd has been carefully selected, and we would love to keep every one of them for many years to come. We think you’ll agree that our attention to detail makes us a great resource for the best Texas Longhorn cattle.

Proven Bloodlines

Super Lee, Longhorn Bull

Super Lee

We would like to introduce to you our newest herd sire, Super Lee.

A 2007 Horn Showcase Champion, Super Lee is over 66 3/4" tip-to-tip at 31 months!

Super Lee has a beautiful reddish brown coat combined with an easy-going disposition,

incredible size and as you can see, a magnificent set of flat lateral horns with thick bases.

His dam T.Y. Gun Frost currently measures over 73 1/2" and his sire Super Bowl measures over 76".

We will utilize Super Lee's genetics on selected foundation cows and young heifers for 2009.

Enhancing the Tradition

We prefer the simplicity of breeding through natural service, and our sires have been selected to produce outstanding progeny. Currently we are using top well-known bulls, such as ZD Kelly, DH Red Ranger 74” and “Working Man Chex 71, who all possess top measurements.

ZD Kelly is co-owned by Mosser Longhorns, Marquess Arrow Ranch and Wesley Watson. Working Man Chex is co-owned by Marquess Arrow Ranch and Bolen Longhorns. DH Red Ranger is owned by Marquess Arrow Ranch. You can see their fine animals at www.maranch.com and www.bolenlonghorns.com.

Our goal at Stotts Hideaway Ranch is to blend the desirable bloodlines in crosses that have proven their value, and our intent is realizing consistent results while selectively improving the desirable horn, size and color traits of our chosen bloodlines.

Business Transitions

In May 2006, Sandy and I sold our local business, Stotts & Company, Inc., a promotional advertising business to Lee Wayne Corporation, out of Sterling, Ill. It was truly a monumental decision as this had been a family business for many years. But the time had come to slow down a bit and maximize the value of the business while still young enough to enjoy life and continue building something else. We (Doug Stotts & Dennis Gerlich) now run the office for Lee Wayne. Lee Wayne is a firm with over 800 sales reps nationwide. We still own a wholesale embroidery business, Embroidery, Inc., marketing to resellers, uniform companies, other promotional companies and the like, supplying embroidered caps, shirts, jackets, and an assortment of other custom apparel and merchandise.

If you are interested in embroidered goods for your ranch, please contact Doug directly at doug.stotts@leewayne.com or www.dstotts.leewaynecatalog.com.
